Why did you join Red Ventures?
I discovered Red Ventures by chance. After a little digging in, I became very curious about this little-known Charlotte company that seemed to be flying under the radar and doing interesting things online. The team seemed to also have my same level of passion. I had to learn more.

Shortly into my first meeting with Dan, it became obvious to me that this was unique and special place. But it was later, when I met with several other members of the organization and experienced the feel and energy of the office that I really began to understand how different Red Ventures is from other companies. I was incredibly impressed with each person's individual expertise, thoughtful questions, bold insight, and most importantly, the collective passion that each person had for their work and the Red Ventures vision.

Why do you like working at Red Ventures?
No restrictions. No barriers. Period.

I'm a hands-on, go forward fast kind of person and the environment here not only enables that - it encourages it. The ability to make an impact is limited only by one's ability to identify opportunities for improvement and execute on solutions. I've never been restricted by anything here. It all comes down to the numbers – try it, measure it, evaluate it, figure it out. Plus, there are tons of talented people here to help at every step along the way.

All the things that inhibit change and progress at other companies – they don't exist here. It's a big part of why we're successful and it's why I have such a passion for my work here.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on to date at Red Ventures?
The new landing page, site experience, ad copy, and offer tests that we put in play today. The day after tomorrow it will be the tests that we put in play tomorrow. Every day brings a new round of learning and new ideas to improve. No matter how much progress you think you've already made, there are always opportunities to get better. We are constantly uncovering incremental conversion lifts that help drive our continued growth. But, even when a test fails to yield an improvement, we're still learning something valuable. There are no "good" or "bad" ideas – just tests to be run. Nothing is sacred.

What part of your personal development while at Red Ventures are you most proud of?
I came from a business-to-business enterprise software background where online marketing efforts lead to sales cycles that are 6-12 months long and results are measured in terms of quarter-over-quarter performance. Here, the sales cycles are measured in minutes and hours. The basic online marketing principles are the same, but it was a huge change in terms of what levers I need to focus on in order to impact the bottom line. I make more positioning moves here in 48 hours than I made in a month in the B2B environment.

When is the last time you laughed out loud - really laughed - here at the office?
Which time today stands out? Thankfully, a fun environment is a big part of the culture here.
